Courvoisier VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) is crafted from grapes sourced from two of the world’s premier and most exclusive cognac regions: Grand Champagne and Petit Champagne. As a result, Courvoisier VSOP is one of only four cognacs in the world that bear the prestigious "Fine Champagne" designation.
This cognac is produced using grapes from these renowned regions, which are ideal for cognacs of this age. Courvoisier VSOP contains eaux-de-vie that are aged between 6 and 10 years. It features a unique distillation process, where distillation occurs with wine lees and employs smaller oak barrels than usual. Distilling with wine lees imparts a delicate and floral bouquet to Courvoisier VSOP, balanced with exotic oak notes. The aroma is refined and harmonious, with undertones of vanilla and roasted almond, and the finish leaves a subtle and gentle impression.
Courvoisier has a long history of producing some of the finest cognacs. It was also Napoleon's favorite cognac, which led to its widespread distribution to the entire court. Napoleon even personally visited the Courvoisier cellars. The success of the cognac was significantly bolstered by the fact that the courts of England, Denmark, and Sweden chose Courvoisier as their official cognac supplier. Today, Courvoisier ranks as the third largest cognac house in the world by sales.
