Balvenie 21YO Port Finish

Balvenie 21Y.O. Portwood is a distinctive whisky aged for 21 years in port casks that previously held the finest wines. Throughout the aging process, the best master blenders carefully monitored the whisky to ensure it achieved the perfect taste and character. The goal was to develop and refine the malt whisky while preserving its original qualities.

The aroma of the whisky is unique and delightfully rich, with notes of ripe raisins and a hint of nutty dryness. On the palate, it initially reveals a creamy, smooth, and sweetly honeyed character, with subtle fruitiness and a touch of spiciness. The finish is long, nutty, and pleasantly delicate.

For serving, it is recommended to use an old fashioned glass, a small whisky glass, or a tulip glass. The tulip glass helps retain the aromas longer and allows for better appreciation of the whisky's color.

Bowmore, established in 1779, is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, with a rich history spanning two centuries. Despite changing ownership several times, the distillery continues to use traditional whisky-making methods—malt is dried on the floor and turned with wooden shovels. The water used in production comes from the nearby Laggan River, which flows through a boggy area, imparting a distinctive peaty flavor to the whisky. Additionally, the distillery's warehouses are located below sea level, which contributes to the whisky's saltier notes.
