Balvenie 12 Y.O. Doublewood is a 12-year-old Scotch whisky that has been aged in two different types of casks. Initially, it matures in traditional oak barrels that previously held bourbon, followed by aging in Spanish sherry casks. The result is a rich-flavored Balvenie Doublewood whisky. Each aging stage imparts its own characteristics to the whisky—bourbon casks soften the whisky's flavor and add uniqueness, while the sherry casks contribute depth and a perfect taste. The whisky is typically served in a low, thick-bottomed old-fashioned or tumbler glass, with water optionally added if desired.
