Auchentoshan 3 Wood Malt

This unique Auchentoshan whisky is aged in three types of casks: American bourbon, Spanish Oloroso sherry, and finally Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. This combination imparts a rich and complex flavor to the whisky. Additionally, notes of toffee and sherry oak are present. The whisky has a color of old golden brown. It is medium-bodied with a smooth roundness. The aroma reveals black currant, brown sugar, orange, plum, and raisins. In taste, hazelnuts dominate, complemented by cinnamon and lemon. There is a subtle sweet creaminess that enhances the overall complexity. The finish is fresh and fruity, with a long-lasting sweetness of oak.

The Auchentoshan distillery was established in 1800 and has been known as Auchentoshan since 1834. In Gaelic, the name means "corner of the field." The distillery is located in the Lowlands region of Scotland, north of Glasgow, and uses water sourced from the Cochna Loch. Instead of the traditional double distillation, the distillery employs a triple distillation process and produces 1.65 million liters of alcohol annually.
