The history of Askaneli begins in 1880, when the Chkhaidze family fermented Chkhaveri grapes in a "Kvevri" clay vessel. Antimoz Chkhaidze turned the first harvest into wine, establishing a tradition that has lasted for two centuries. Since then, many harvests have passed. Antimoz's business was inherited by his descendants, and the family legacy has contributed to the development of the country's winemaking industry. The aim to this day is to protect, cultivate, and preserve the diversity of grape varieties for future generations.
